The National Curriculum is our main guide when putting together schemes of work.
All children are assessed during the year. If parents wish to know their child’s results, they can ask their child’s teacher.
English
We have two main reading schemes, Jolly Phonics and The Oxford Reading Tree. These include fiction, fact and poetry books. In addition, your child may be given a variety of other reading material, either to reinforce the level he/she is at, or to extend his/her reading. We use Jolly Phonics to teach phonics, spelling and handwriting from Nursery to Class 2.
Maths
We use the Abacus Maths scheme from the Nursery upwards. This is a practical-based scheme with the emphasis on mental maths, activities and class teaching. Individual teachers may use additional material. |
