Within the Pre-prep & Nursery, we aim to know and care for each child as an individual. The progress and happiness of each child is carefully monitored. The ethos of the school is enhanced by an emphasis on seven ‘Golden Rules’. Circle time sessions are time-tabled each week and these provide a safe and friendly environment for the children to discuss the issues important to them. These also provide an opportunity for positive behaviour patterns to be congratulated and reinforced. Meetings between staff and parents are held regularly, and several written reports sent home each academic year. Class teachers are available any day after school should parents feel the need for discussion about their child. Home/school books are provided to aid communication between parents and staff. All aspects of a child’s education are viewed as a partnership between parents and teachers.

The children are assessed regularly so that any special educational needs can be spotted early on and support given. These needs may include those of particularly able children.
